The Privacy feature, aka ID Protection or ID Shield, protects the domain header's personal data from uninvited connection with third parties. Using this feature none of your sensitive data will be displayed on the net.
In case of domain .it, companies are no longer able to use the privacy feature to obscure their data online, according to the new Nic Italiano policy. Otherwise, individuals and professionals who register a domain .it are still able to use this feature to protect their personal data online.
To activate your domain privacy you have to follow the procedure below:
- Log-in to your customer area, entering your username and password
- In "My services" click "Domains"
- Select the domain on which you want to activate the Privacy option and click on "Manage"
- In the ID Protection box click on "Activate now". The option will be activated in 24 hours.
